Astral CTX 280
Higher head pressure — handles demanding setups. The CTX series is engineered to deliver greater head pressure than most standard single speed pumps. That makes it particularly well suited to in-floor cleaning systems, spa jets, and pools with longer pipe runs or elevated equipment — situations where other pumps start to struggle.
Moves more water, uses less power. Despite its strong output, the CTX 280C is designed to circulate a high volume of water in fewer running hours per day. Less time running means lower electricity bills and less wear on the pump over time.
Quiet enough to forget it’s there. Pool pump noise is a real concern, especially for equipment installed near living areas or fences. The CTX 280C is built with noise reduction in mind, running at a level that won’t disrupt your outdoor space.
Built to last from quality components. Every CTX pump is assembled from high-grade materials chosen for durability under continuous operation. Less maintenance, fewer replacements, and a pump that keeps going season after season.

Who It’s For
The CTX 280C is a great fit if you:
- Have a residential in-ground pool with a standard 240V single phase power supply
- Run an in-floor cleaning system, spa jets, or other high-pressure water features
- Want a reliable, low-maintenance pump without the complexity of variable speed technology
- Are replacing an older single speed pump and want a like-for-like upgrade with better performance
You might want to consider a variable speed pump instead if:
- Your pool runs many hours per day and energy savings are a priority
- Your local council or state regulations require variable speed pumps for new installations
Astral CTX 280 Pool Pump Compatibility & Requirements

Installation & Maintenance
The CTX 280C is installed by a licensed pool technician or electrician — connection to mains power must comply with Australian electrical standards. The pump should be positioned on a level, stable surface, protected from direct flooding, and as close to the pool as practical to minimise head loss. Ensure the pump is primed before first start-up.
For ongoing maintenance, clean the strainer basket regularly — especially during autumn when leaf load is high — and inspect the pump lid o-ring at the start of each season. The CTX 280C’s high-quality components are designed for minimal intervention, but an annual service check by your pool technician will keep it running at peak performance.
Astral CTX 280C Warranty
- 3 years except seals
- 2 years only on the mechanical seal
